Host payment terms

Last updated 16 October 2026

You’re the seller

When you sell tickets or open a chip-in pot, you are selling to your guests and you are responsible for your event. Invited collects payments on your behalf, through our payments partner Stripe, and pays them to you. Guests are told this before they pay.

Getting paid

Card payments are for hosts in the UK for now: you need a UK bank account and a UK home address. You give us your name, date of birth, home address and UK bank account, and agree to the Stripe Connected Account Agreement. The bank account must be your own, in the same name as the details you give us; payouts to anyone else’s account aren’t allowed. Stripe checks your identity and may ask for more, such as a photo of your ID. Money from an event is sent to your bank automatically 3 days after the event, once the card payments have cleared (card payments take up to 7 days to clear, so tickets bought close to the event follow a few days later). If you need it sooner, you can ask for it in the app as soon as the event has happened.

Fees

On tickets paid by card, the fee is the card processing cost plus 1% for Invited. You choose whether guests pay it as a booking fee or it comes out of what you receive. Booking fees aren’t refundable. Gifts to a chip-in pot are sent to you directly, by the payment details you add, with no fee; Invited doesn’t handle that money.

Refunds and cancelling

Refunds are your decision. You can refund a guest in the app or on the website; they get back what reached you (the ticket price), taken from your balance. The booking fee is never refunded. If you cancel an event, every card payment is refunded the same way. Money already paid out to your bank can’t be refunded through Invited, so please pay those guests back directly.

You choose what happens if a guest can’t make it, and guests see your choice before they buy: only you give refunds (the default); guests can cancel and get a refund, straight away and without asking you; or guests can ask you for a refund, which you approve or decline. Guests can cancel or ask only up to the cut-off you set (24 hours to 14 days before the start), and not once their ticket has been scanned at the door. A refund a guest takes under your rule comes out of your balance just like one you give.

When sales stop: ticket sales close at the time you set, or 1 hour before the end if you don’t. Your event locks at its end time: no more sales, replies or changes. A payment a guest started before the cut-off and finished just after still stands.

Disputes and chargebacks

If a guest disputes a payment with their bank, we hold what you received from that payment while the bank decides, and tell you. If the dispute is decided in your favour, the money comes back to you. If not, the amount (and any dispute fee) is yours to cover, and we may take it from your balance or future payouts, or ask you to repay it.

What you can’t sell

Tickets and gifts for real, lawful events you are organising. No resale of other people’s tickets, and nothing on Stripe’s restricted list. We can pause payments for an event or an account if something looks wrong.
